(Kathmandu – Chisapani – Nagarkot – Namoboudha – Bhaktapur) Accessible to all age groups this is a Royal Trek around the surrounding mountains of the Kathmandu Valley. It starts from Sundarijal for Chisapani to Nagarkot and further trekking to Dhulikhel and Namobuddha. Sundarijal,located 15 km north-east of Kathmandu, it takes about 45-minute drive from Thamel. In the beginning, the trail pierces Shivapuri National Park passing
through a significant watershed that supplies 40 per cent drinking water to Kathmandu Valley. Chisapani to Nagarkot trek offers beautiful nature andvillage walking experience. The natural environment, stunning Himalayan view of Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Gaurishankar Himal and the Mt Annapurna Range (From Chisapani) and Everest (from Nagarkot view tower) in the far distance are stunning (on a clear day).

Itinerary

Day 1Sundarijal- Chisapani (2300 meters/6-7 hours trekking)

Early morning after breakfast, drive to Sundarijal, which is about 15 km from Thamel. It is a five to six hours trekking passing through villages, waterfalls and lush green forests.– O/N Guest House

Day 02 Chisapani-Nagarkot (2175 meters/6-7 hours trekking)

After breakfast, start the second-day trek from Chisapani to Nagarkot at an altitude of 2175m. The trek takes 6-7 walking hours, walking through the jungle till Jhule and continue to Chauki Bhanjyang for a Lunch break. After lunch, the trail continues to Nagarkot walking through the farmland along with the different landscape, forests with diverse species of flora and fauna and the
mighty Himalayas always remain visible to the left-hand side of the trekker.

Day 03 Nagarkot-Dhulikhel (1550 meters/5-6 hours trekking)

After breakfast, start the third-day trek from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel. Weather spirits permitting, the Himalayas may identify their beauty and massiveness from early morning from this beautiful mountain resort. Trekking time fromNagarkot to Dhulikhel is about six hours downhill traversing through villages and different biodiversity from medium high land to lowlands.

Day 04 Dhulikhel-Namobuddha (1750 meters/4-5 hours trekking)

After breakfast, start the fourth-day trek from Dhulikhel to Namobuddha which takes around 4 hours. Namobuddha OR “Namo Buddhaya” (“I take refuge in the Buddha”) is a place of famous ancient Buddhist Monastery and caves. – O/N Hotel/Guesthouse in Namobuddha.

Day 05Namobuddha-Bhaktapur-Kathmandu

Early morning drive to Bhaktapur from Namobuddha. Bhaktapur is locally known as Bhadgaon and Khowpa (in Newari). This
ancient city is also known as « The City of Culture », « Living heritage » andone of « Nepal’s Cultural Capitals ». As the capital of one of the Malla Kingdoms, it was a wealthy city of architectural richness. There are four significant squares like Bhaktapur Durbar Square famous for its 55-window palace and the ancient Lion Gates; Pottery square, Taumadi square and
Dattatreya square.

Day 06 Kathmandu-Pashupatinath-Boudhanath-Buddanilakantha

Dedicated to visiting the sacred sites in the Kathmandu Valley:Pashupatinath temple is the center of Sanatana-Hindu culture, tradition and religion: here, birth and death rites of passages experienced. It provides a variety of temple designs, some of which are Dome, Pagoda and Shikhara style. Bouddhanath is one of the largest stupas of its type in Asia, and it has
become an important centre of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal.Budhanilakantha Temple (reclining Vishnu in the Naga couch), located in the northern part of the city and at the base of Shivapuri Hill, is a Hindu open-air
shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The highlight of this sacred shrine is the early morning prayers and preparation of deity for a daylong journey to different realms to observe and maintain spiritual practices and discipline. – O/N Hotel in Kathmandu
