This short trek is ideal for a first time hike in the Nepalese Himalayas. In spring, you will enjoy the beautiful rhododendron flowers in full bloom. You will also admire the beautiful panorama of the Himalayas from Poon Hill. This is one of the most famous vantage points of Nepal. You will go through villages populated by Magar and Gurung families. Many of them belong to the famous Nepalese Gorkhas regiments.

Itinerary

Day 1Kathmandu (1300 m)

Arrival in Kathmandu, where you are welcomed by our staff outside the terminal and transfer to your hotel. Late afternoon, enjoy a guided walking tour through the narrow lanes of the old city. Discover the colorful and bustling local bazars and Durbar square, the site of the ancient royal palace, full of temples and monuments.

Day 2Kathmandu (1300 m)

Guided tour of Kathmandu valley. Boudhanath, one of the great Buddhist shrines of Nepal. Its stupa is the oldest and the largest of Nepal. You will enjoy the activity here where Tibetans, sherpas come to turn around this monument, reciting prayers and turning the prayer’s wheels.. Then, continue to Patan, the ancient royal capital also known as Lalitpur “city of fine arts ” and famous for its ancient Newari architecture. It is an open air museum full of palaces, pagodas, monasteries, temples and shrines ..

Day 3 Phedi - Dhampus (1700 m/2hrs 30mins walk)

Drive to Phedi (about 7 hrs) through the green landscape and the first views of the Himalayan mountains. Arrival at Phedi, the departure point of the trek. Today we walk up many stairs to reach our first lodge. You will be rewarded with views of Annapurna South, Himchuli and Macchapuchare (the famous fish tail mountain)

Day 4Landrung (1650 m /3 hrs)

Walking on an easy trail, on a ridge with great views of the cultivated terraced fields, and passing through several Gurung Village on the way. Overnight in Lodge

Day 5Gandrung (1960 m / 3 hrs)

Long descent towards the Modi Khola river. You might spot the famous honey hunters. You will cross a suspension bridge and climbup to Gandrung, the largest Gurung settlement in the region. You will visit the old village full of traditional stone houses with slate roofs.

Day 06Chule or Tadapani (2400 m/4 hrs )

We walk to upper Ghandrung and then climb through a dense forest of rhododendrons and oaks trees. If you are lucky, you might spot monkeys. Short descent to get to our Lodge, facing the Annapurna South.

Day 07Ghorepani (2835 m / 5 hrs)

Today we will hike through the huge rhododendron trees to reach our stay for the night in the Magar village of Ghorepani.

Day 08Poon Hill (3200m) - Hille (1500m /5 hrs)

Today we get up early to walk up about 300 m and reach the top of Poon Hill for the sunrise on the magic range of Himalayas. This is the most famous view point of the Nepali Himalayas. You will be able to see the Dhaulagiri range, the Nilgiris, the Annapurnas and the Manaslu. We will get back to our lodge and have breakfast. We start walking down on the famous stairs of Ulleri and down to Hille. Surely you will meet the caravans of mules. We will celebrate with our staff our last night in the mountains…

Day 09Nayapul (1060m / 3 hrs.) and drive to Pokhara (900m/1hrs)

Last morning walk. We reach the road and transfer to Pokhara where we stay next to Fewa Lake side. We check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day is free for you to wander around the lakeside and do shopping or a boat ride..and the last farewell evening with local time.

Day 10Kathmandu (40mn)

Drive to airport and flight to Kathmandu. You will get stunning views of the Annapurna range. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is free.

Day 11Kathmandu

Free day to explore other sights in Kathmandu valley (Bhaktapur, Swayambhunath) or do your final souvenir shopping.

Day 12 : Kathmandu

Transfer to the airport for your international flight.
