This spectacular adventure will take you through the Gurung villages, set in the Himalayan foothills, to the remote ridge of Kopra. Most of your stay will be in newly-built lodges, with profits benefiting the local community. After Tadopani, you’ll leave the tourist trail behind and set off for an authentic discovery of Nepal. You’ll view the lofty peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. This is a really beautiful trek through extraordinary and multi-facetted scenery. Itinerary

Day 1Kathmandu (1300 m)

Arrival in Kathmandu, where you are welcomed by our staff outside the terminal and transfer to your hotel. Late afternoon, enjoy a guided walking tour through the narrow lanes of the old city. Discover the colorful and bustling local bazars and Durbar square, the site of the ancient royal palace, full of temples and monuments.

Day 2Kathmandu (1300 m)

Guided tour of Kathmandu valley. Boudhanath, one of the great Buddhist shrines of Nepal. Its stupa is the oldest and the largest of Nepal. You will enjoy the activity here where Tibetans, sherpas come to turn around this monument, reciting prayers and turning the prayer’s wheels.. Then, continue to Patan, the ancient royal capital also known as Lalitpur “city of fine arts “ and famous for its ancient Newari architecture. It is an open air museum full of palaces, pagodas, monasteries, temples and shrines. Overnight in hotel

Day 3 Nayapul 8 hrs drive Shaule bazaar (1,310m 1 hrs walk)

Drive to Nayapul through the green fields terraces. It is the starting point of our trek. After walking through the village of Birethanti, you’ll arrive at your lodge, located nearby the Modi Khola river in a picturesque setting.

Day 4Ghandrunk (1,950m 6hrs walk)

Today, we’ll climb up the famous stone steps of Nepal, giving us some more superb views of the Himalayan range. We’ll follow the path around terraced wheat and millet fields to reach the largest Gurung village in the area. This village faces Annapurna South (7,237m), Macchapuchare (6,993m) and Ggrandung (7,455m).

Day 5Tadapani (2,300m 4hrs walk)

You’ll leave behind the terraced fields of Ghandrung to enter the famous oak and rhododendron forest, which is in full bloom in springtime. As you walk, you’ll hear the soothing sound of singing birds and tumbling waterfalls. You’ll also admire the view over the Himalayan peaks. Your lodge provides a perfect setting to watch the magnificent sunset and sunrise.

Day 6Baili Kharka (2,900m 5hrs walk)

We’ll leave the main trail to follow a path leading to the local buffalo pastures. We’ll walk up through the dense rhododendron forest and cross a small pass. From your lodge, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Dhaulagiri range.
Overnight stay in community lodge (built by the locals to reap the benefits of tourism).

Day 7Chistibung (3,000m 5hrs walk)

We’ll descend through open spaces towards the pastures of Lower Chistibung. After lunch, we’ll gradually make our way up to the pastures. The vegetation here is sub-alpine with short trees and shrubs.

Day 8Kopra (3,870m 3hrs walk)

Today, we’ll make a steady climb to reach Kopra, the highest point of our trek. We’ll arrive at our community lodge for lunch. You can relax while taking in the magnificent views of the mountains and the world’s deepest valley: the Kali Gandaki. Keep your eyes open to spot the Himalayan Thar or the Danphe (Nepali pheasant).

Day 9Saunta (2,220m 5hrs 30mins walk)

We’ll make a steep descent to reach the Magar village of Saunta, where we’ll be back among the greenery and terraced fields that are so characteristic of Nepal.

Day 10Phulbari (2,950m 5hrs walk)

After reaching the Saunta river, we’ll climb up to Chitre and leave the main trail to Ghorepani to get back to the forest. A series of short ups and downs will take us to our lodge, which offers phenomenal views of the Dhaulagiri.

Day 11Ulleri (2,070m 6hrs walk)

We’ll walk up through the oak and rhododendron forest to reach the most famous panorama of the Himalayas from Poon Hill (3,200m). Then we’ll get back down onto the main trail towards Ghorepani, Deorali and Nangethanti.

Day 12Birethanti—Pokhara (900m)

We’ll take the stone steps again, descending 500m to the village of Tirkedunga. After lunch at Birethanti, we’ll follow the river to Nayapul, the pick-up point for our 2-hour drive to Pokhara. You’ll have some free time to explore the lake shore and enjoy a well-deserved shower and relaxing night at our hotel.

Day 13 Kathmandu (1,360m)

Flight to Kathmandu. On arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. You’ll have the rest of the day free to discover Kathmandu and its valley.

Day 14Departure

Free time and transfer to the airport.
