Itinerary

Day 1 Kathmandu (1300 m)

Arrival in Kathmandu airport received by our reprsentative and transfer to your hotel. In the late afternoon guided walk through the old neighborhoods and around the former royal palace of Kathmandu
Night in hotel

Day 2 Kathmandu (1300 m)

Tour to the famous Boudhanath,the largest in the world, and the Mecca of Tibetan Buddhism. Then, continue to Patan,”city of fine arts” This city is a veritable open-air museum with its palaces, pagodas, monasteries.

Day 3Paro (2800 m)

Departure transfer to airport flight to paro. Superb flight along the Himalayan range. Immigration formalities and reception by the our representative. Bhutanese guide.Check into your hotel refresh your self and discover the old dzong and the beautiful wooden bridge and the Ta- Dzong, an ancient watchtower, and finally the museum.

Day 4 Paro - Drukyel dzong - Shana (2370 m) 4-5 hrs walk

Short drive to Drukgyel Dzong (1h), beautiful view of the snow-covered pyramid Chomolhari. First day of trekking through the villages and cultivated fields along the river Pa.
Overnight at tented camp.

Day 5 Shana - Thangthanka (3620m) 6 hrs walk

Climb through the forest of oak, pine and rhododendron along the torrent.
Overnight in tent.

Day 6 Thangthanka - Jangothang (4110 m) 6hrs 30mins walk

Climb through the forest and pasture. Incredible view of the mountains with surrounding peaks. Beautiful sunset on the Chomolhari Jichu Drake and from camp.

Day 7Jangothang - Lingshi (4020 m) 6 hrs walk

The pass of Nyele The (4880 m). Long descent through yak pastures to the village of Lingshi foot peaks. Great views of Lingshi Dzong, the Tserim Kang and its glaciers, which are north, deep in the valley

Day 8Lingshi - Jakepassa (3890 m) 7 hrs walk

The pass of the Takla and arrived in the village of yak herders Chebisa. We attack the neck of Gogu The (4510 m). Very nice view of the snowy peaks. Descent into the forest to camp.

Day 9 Jakepassa - Tsriango (4070 m) 6 hrs walk

Mounted by a beautiful forest of conifers and rhododendrons to the Col de La Jare (4740 m). Beautiful panorama of the snow-capped Chomolhari, the Jitchu Drake. Descent to pastures Tsriango.

Day 10 Tsriango - Lemithang (4150 m) 6hrs 30mins walk

Climbing through the moraines to cross the highest pass of the circuit: the Sinche La (5010 m). Magnificent views of the surrounding 7000 m. We continue in the glacial valley to the camp.Panorama on Kangchenta (large tiger mountain).

Day 11 Lemithang - Laya (3820 m) 3.30 hour walk

A short day along a winding river before arriving at the mountain village of Laya . Most people depend on livestock yaks.

Day 12 Laya

Recovery day. Visit the monastery and the traditional village where the women wear a black suit Yak-hair and a strange conical bamboo hat. Overnight in tent

Day 13 Laya - Koina (3230 m) 6hrs 30 mins walk

We leave the high altitude to reach Koina, to step between the caravans of yaks and Laya Gasa. Numerous waterfalls and rapids in the valley Overnight in tent

Day 14Koina - Gasa (2800m) 6 hours walk

Climb to the Col de La Bale (3820 m). Beautiful panoramic view of the chain Masang Kang (7200 m). Descent through the forest to the village to the hot springs of Gasa. Dzong magnificent backdrop of snowy peaks. Overnight in tent

Day 15 Gasa - Geon Damzi (2000 m) 6 hours walk

Down and over forests of oak, pine and rhododendron. Many flora (orchids …) and butterflies during this step that will delight lovers of botany. We find the rice paddies and terraced agriculture. Last night camping and partying with the staff.

Day 16Goem Tazi - Punakha 2 hrs drive

We need 2 hours to reach Punakha. Check into your hotel. Punakha Dzong to visit, built at the confluence of two rivers and one of the oldest in Bhutan . Seat of power until 1955, the winter residence of Buddhist dignitaries, is one of the palace’s most impressive fortresses in Bhutan .

Day 17 Punakha - Thimphu (2450m) 3 hrs drive

Visit the chorten, national memorial, built by King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, King of Bhutan, father of state modernization. Walk through the shopping streets.

Day 18 Departure

City tour: the National Library with its texts and ancient manuscripts, the institute Zorig Chusum where we learn all thirteen Bhutanese traditional craft techniques, the folk museum and textiles, the Tashichhodzong, fortress-monastery, the seat government.

Day 19Thimphu - Kathmandu

Early morning in Kathmandu . Transfer to the hotel
